The City Half Marathon 2019 is launching this autumn with 5km, 10km and 21km courses
A brand-new half marathon is launching in Dubai.
The City Half Marathon is set to take place this October, with five kilometre, 10km and 21km courses around Dubai’s DIFC.
The race will start in front of the Gate Building, and athletes will run through the financial district, enjoying views of the Burj Khalifa, Emirates Towers and the Museum of the Future.
Organisers have described it as a “fast and flat course [set to be] a record-breaking race for our competitive running community”.
All runners will receive a City Half Marathon T-shirt and a participation medal.
The race will take place from 6am on Friday, October 25, and entry costs Dh130 for the 5km, Dh180 for the 10km and Dh285 for the half marathon. If running the course itself doesn’t tickle your fancy, you can register to volunteer at the race.

More races this summer
When summer draws to an end, there will be plenty of races and competitions to get you out and active this autumn and winter.
Look out for the Urban-Ultra Night Rebel trial race in Ras Al Khaimah on Friday, September 20, the Emirates NBD Unity Run in Dubai on Friday, November 15 and the Adnoc Abu Dhabi Marathon on Friday, December 6.
Plus, every month on the first Saturday of the month a free Cigna Park Run takes place indoors at Dubai’s Ibn Battuta Mall during the summer months, then in October it will move outdoors once again. It’s a mixed distance competition, so participants can choose between a 2.5km and 5km run.
