The 2022 Spartan World Championship will return to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, where Thousands of athletes and spectators will gather at this metropolis in the desert to compete for Spartan immortality on December 2–4. This year also brings a newly designed Championship Super course that will test every athlete that dares approach the starting line
The 2022 Spartan World Championship weekend is packed with more exciting events than ever. Athletes will find an event that tests their mind and body, no matter their skill level. Choose from Sprint, Super, Beast, and Kids courses, or take on the first-ever Trifecta Weekend in Abu Dhabi.
Al Wathba, this year’s venue, sits just a 30-minute drive from Abu Dhabi, making it convenient for local and international racers. Restaurants, a spa/pool, and cultural excursions will be available for purchase at the race venue.
Qualification
Athletes in the Elite and competitive Age Group divisions can qualify through races held in 14 countries, two regional championships, or at wild card events throughout the year. Athletes must reach specific qualifying standards that involve an overall place and finish within a certain time of the winner.
There are no qualifications for the Open Beast (21K, 30 obstacles), Open Team Super, Open Super (10K, 25 obstacles), or Open Kids divisions.
Families and Spartans of all ages have the chance to compete in various tournaments, including the Age Group World Championship Beast, Open Beast, Open Team Super, and Kids Open.
